Partners in the Kennemer Family

Make it stand Partnership with the University of the Philippines Los Banos Foundation Inc. and the UP College of Forestry and Natural Resources out

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Kennemer Eco Solutions, UPLBFI, and the UP CFNR on December 2022. The partnership's goal is to strengthen private sector’s and the academic institution’s capacity to develop climate-related initiatives via voluntary carbon credits. The partners will exchange technical, scientific, and financial resources to develop climate mitigation methods jointly, notably in voluntary carbon trading utilizing recognized international standards.

The senior advisers from UPLBFI are the former Dean of the CNFR and UPLB ex-chancellor Rex Victor Cruz, current UP CFNR Dean Marlo Mendoza, former UP CFNR Dean John Pulhin, senior scientist Rodel Lasco, senior scientist Yay Pulhin, and Professor Ike Tolentino.

The MOU signing was between UPLBFI Executive Director Dr. Rico Supangco and KenEco CEO Simon Bakker.

Partnership with Davao Oriental State University

The top educational institution in Davao Oriental, the Davao Oriental State University, signed an MOU with KenEco in October 2022. Both parties agreed to establish and co-manage a Climate Action Consortium to safeguard, conserve, and restore terrestrial and marine ecosystems to further their shared objective of preserving Davao Oriental's remaining forest. DOrSU and KenEco have pledged to pool their resources for programs and initiatives that would lessen deforestation, restore depleted landscapes, and maintain and safeguard biodiversity.

Signing on behalf of DOrSU is University President Roy Ponce and Simon Bakker for Kennemer Eco Solutions and Bai Ani Foundation.

Partnership with the Provincial Tribal Council of Davao Oriental

Beginning 2022, Kennemer Eco Solutions has engaged the 11 Mandaya and Kagan Indigenous Cultural Communities (ICCs) in the Province of Davao Oriental. The partners will actively and formally participate in forest conservation, land restoration, sustainable livelihoods, and cultural preservation. The indigenous communities will be capacitated for field implementation of conservation programs and forest safeguard activities.

The Davao Oriental PTC is headed by its chairman, Datu Terry Manaytay who is also the provincial Indigenous People Mandatory Representative (IPMR), a recognized provincial board member.

Partnership with the Department of Transportation

Kennemer Group CEO **Simon Bakker **and DOTr Undersecretary for Aviation and Airports Roberto Lim signed a Declaration of Intent on July 12, 2024, for collaboration on future projects with the Department, marking a newly formed partnership with the Department of Transportation - Philippines (DOTr).

The agreement seeks to establish a collaborative framework for the implementation of hashtag#nature-based solutions (NbS) aimed at hashtag#carbon offsets. This opens opportunities for activities related to preserving and protecting Philippine forests and mangroves, as well as ensuring sustainable livelihoods for local communities.
