KenEco projects are defined by strong adherence to overall sustainability and responsible management practices along social, environmental, and governance principles.  Its metrics-based monitoring and evaluation emphasizes internal and community-centric performance indicators helping build credibility with its local stakeholder-partners, government, and funding partners.

Its social impact and environmental sustainability are aligned with national laws and informed by IFC Performance Standards notably:

  • Performance Standard 4: Community Health, Safety, and Security

  • Performance Standard 6: Biodiversity Conservation and Sustainable Natural Resources Management

  • Performance Standard 6 and 7: Indigenous Peoples and Cultural Heritage

Additional standards on indigenous peoples engagement using the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples and national government’s Indigenous Peoples Rights Act (IPRA) on Free and Prior Informed Consent process.
